Gujarat Medical Education & Research Society(GMERS)

In order to meet the National need for more doctors and to improve Human Development Index in the state by increasing the availability of qualified doctors, State Government of Gujarat has planned to establish new medical colleges under Gujarat Medical Education and Research Society which has commenced setting up institutions of excellence in medical education and research in various parts of the State, thus ensuring spra of health care services and medical knowledge.

Medical colleges at Sola – Ahmedabd and Gotri – Vadodara have already become functional with admission of first batch of MBBS students for the academic year 2011-2012. Process is under way to start three more colleges during the academic year 2012 – 2013 at Gandhinagar, patan and Valsad. Inspection by medical Council of India at this colleges is expected soon.
